Anthropic is not a full substitute for Sisense today, but it is eating into the AI analytics interaction layer fast.
Claude now clearly overlaps with:

So no, Sisense is not dead.

The clearest hit is Claude Opus 4.6.
Anthropic explicitly says Claude can work in Excel and PowerPoint, ingest unstructured data, infer structure, handle multi-step analysis tasks, and turn results into branded visual output.
That attacks the same user expectation Sisense sells into with natural-language analytics, narrative summaries, and fast insight generation.
It does not replace Sisense's embedded analytics platform, but it absolutely weakens the premium on Sisense's AI-assisted analysis experience.
What still protects them
Sisense still has real protection because its product is more than "ask AI about data."
Its moat is in the system around the model:
- governed data modeling and semantic analytics
- embeddable dashboards and analytics components
- SDK-based integration into customer products
- design control so analytics match the host application's UX
- enterprise deployment history with customer-facing analytics use cases
Anthropic can supply the brain.
Sisense still supplies the plumbing, governance, packaging, and productization.
That matters because companies embedding analytics into their own SaaS products usually need reliability, permissions, reusable components, and a stable frontend integration story—not just a smart model.
